Selection Guidelines
Selection Guidelines for Information Resources to be Included in RHIN® RHIN primarily follows NLM's selection guidelines RHIN places its greatest emphasis on identifying, collecting, and making available materials that have been produced by U.S. Federal and state government agencies, major national organizations (scientific societies, professional organizations, etc.), academic institutions, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations (World Health Organization, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, International Organization for Refugees, etc.). Authorship and/or sponsorship of materials available through RHIN (either in the RHIN database or linked Web sites) are clearly identified. All content available through RHIN for downloading is available at no charge. Web sites that may be linked to from RHIN are constantly evaluated to ensure substantive information is provided and quality is maintained. Links will be removed if quality is not maintained. Additionally, sites identified by RHIN as “trusted links” must be well organized and easily navigated, and the sites must be consistently available and without registration requirements (including account number, password, etc.). If registration is requested, how that registration data is used must be clearly stated. |
